THE MILITARY TAKEOVER: A FIRST LOOK...

ATTENNNNNN-SHUN! We're soooooo siked about wrapping up yet another great shoot this weekend! The main theme was all things military, or pretty military as we'd like to call it... Just like the Army are taking over the Olympics, the military trend has been ALL OVER the AW12 catwalks and we thought we'd delve into this awesome trend doll style! Silks, tapered slacks and pretty dresses were the order of the day and I ain't hatin' it! 

All these pieces will be available in our ASOS Marketplace boutique throughout this week so don't stall, hup-two-three-four and hot foot it to our boutique ASAP!

HOORAY FOR ANGLAISE!

Who says you have to be a blushing bride waltzing down the aisle to get in on the bright white broiderie anglaise Spring 2012 trend. I remember back in the days when this fabric was used HEAVILY throughout the lil' gypsy fashion moment of the late 90's, you know the one, where everyone was wearing off the shoulder balloon sleeve crop tops! Thank goodness that er, trend (and I use the term ever so loosely here) passed over... note to self: never. again! 

Fast forward to 2012 and high end designers such as Louis Vuitton, Celine and Dolce and Gabbana have prompted a mad rush of high street retailers filling their rails with gorgeous dresses, blouses, shirts made from this fresh, whimsical fabric....I for one am NOT complaining! I'll be rocking my broiderie anglaise blouse with denim shorts this summer to edge it up a little, how will you be wearing yours?

RUNNING IN HEELS... THE OLYMPICS ARE COMING!

We (along with the rest of the world) have been swept up by Olympics fever, AND yes we're definitely loving the sports luxe trend this season, but here at DollsMaison you won't catch us rocking hi tops (unless they're Isabel Marant's wedges of course!), shell suits, trackie bottoms or nylon rucksacks! We'll leave that to the buff athletes who'll be gracing our East London streets within a week... We're waaay too cute for that!

HOT SPRING TREND: PRINTED SHORTS

The weather may not be as perky as we'd like for this time of year but we're not letting that stop us with our Spring wardrobe choices! Taking inspiration from the style queen herself Olivia Palermo I'm absolutely loving rocking printed shorts to add a bit of va-va voom to my day to day outfit, I wish I was cool enough to do the double print thing but alas I wouldn't even dare go there, I think I'll  leave that up to Liv! But for those of us who are a little more subtle team your shorts with a plain top and let the bottoms do the talking!

SPOTS, STRIPES AND ALL THINGS NICE

Some people think that they are not up to the challenge of dressing up in spots or stripes but right now I am absolutely loving it! Wearing spots or stripes means that you can add an extra ooomph to your wardrobe, especially for the bold print shy! Afraid of going all over prints? that's cool why not try a cute pair of polka dot peg leg trousers... Scared the stripes won't suit your figure if you're a bit curvier? Noooo sweat vertical stripes in a looser pant will streamline your pins and even make you look a little taller if you're short... they're also a key trend for Autumn/Winter 2012 so what's not to love!
