THE 64TH PRIMETIME ANNUAL EMMY AWARDS: BEST AND WORST DRESSED CELEBS!

Emilia Clarke dazzles in white and purple sequin baroque Chanel gown from the Resort collection and nude Christian Louboutin heels....a gorgeous modern take on the 50's full skirted gown.

The Oscars or Golden Globes it isn't but the red carpet at the 64th Primetime Annual Emmy Awards didn't fail to disappoint. There were fashion highs...please step forward style savvy stars Emilia Clarke, Ginnifer Goodwin, January Jones and DollsMaison fave Zooey Deschanel! But with every peak there is an inevitable pit, which in my opinion should be filled with the remains of some of the awful sartorial choices made by the likes of Julianne Moore, Portia De Rossi and supermodel Heidi Klum.

The red carpet was awash with various fashion highs and lows so we've rounded up our pick of the bunch for you.

Let us know whether you agree or disagree!

xoxo

BEST DRESSED:

Ginnifer Goodwin in vintage inspired Monique Lhullier gown and Christian Louboutin heels.

January Jones treads the line of elegant and sexy to a tee! She looks super hot in a Zac Posen tiered gown.

Zooey Deschanel looks like a Disney princess in Reem Acra periwinkle gown

Emily VanCamp looks ethereal in grey chiffon J. Mendel gown and minimal accessories.

Sarah Paulson looks stunning in her delicately embellished midnight blue chiffon Reem Acra dress.

Giuliana Rancic in Ramona Keveza gown and Jimmy Choo heels, oh how Joan and the rest of the Joan Rangers would be proud!

WORST DRESSED:

Phoebe Price: Where do I start??! The frou-frou ruffles, the crazy lop sided mullet hem, a floral corsage the size of her head that looks like a 2 year old made it in arts and crafts class and those shoes AAAARGGGH!!! It is all just so blah!

Julianne Moore in Christian Dior: I hate to say it but this number reminds me of one of those 'wet floor' warning cones....it does NOTHING for Julianne's figure and is just waaay to covered up for such a glam event!

Heidi Klum: What were you thinking?? Heidi, Breasts or legs NEVER BOTH! We know you have the bod of someone half your age but those splits and that deep V are obscene!!

Lena Dunham in Prada: For someone who is 26 years old she's sure doing a great job at looking like she's 46! This dress is just waaay to frumpy for a girl her age ....even Helen Mirren would think this dress was too old for her! Not only that it doesn't seem to fit her properly and it's just way too much black, floral lace. It would probably have looked better as a bandeau.

The less said about Portia Di Rossi's bell bottomed, flesh toned monstrosity the better! While her wife Ellen Degeneres doesn't steer far from her usual pant suit get up, mix it up El!

US model Mayra Veronica: who invited Cruella Deville....in reverse? The long gloves just look too out of place and it's way too much white satin coverage, I feel like I'm looking at frosty the snowman's wife!

WHAT THEY WORE: DM'S FAVE FASHION WEEK FASHIONISTAS!

We all know Fashion week isn't just about what's happening on the runway; it's about who goes to which show, where they sat, and most importantly WHAT THEY WORE! After trawling through about a million LFW snaps, we've rounded up our best and worst Fashion Week attendee's outfits.

FASHION FAVES:

Nicola Roberts rocks a bold red maxi at Henry Holland's show. Anything would look good on that girl,   and extra fashion points for going accessory-less to let the dress do the talking.

Does she EVER get it wrong?! Olivia Palermo looked stylish and snuggly at Mulberry.

Atlanta De Cadenet looked effortlessly amazing in a leather aviator jacket, skater dress and boots. So. Jealous. Of. The. Bag.
Peplum skirt: check. Cute midi length: check. Owl design: check. Kate Bosworth ticked a good few Autumn fashion boxes at Burberry.

FASHION FLOPS:

You can wipe that smile right off your mug, Kelly O! Nothing about this outfit works for her and the gimmicky sunglasses just look ridiculous. We expected better from you!

Did you forget your trousers, Pixie Lott? Perhaps just wearing a jumper to Giles Deacon's show wasn't such a good idea... the only good thing about this outfit is the arm candy (and we're not talking about the handbag!)

LONDON FASHION WEEK 2012: STREET STYLE LUST!

The leather full skirt - A personal fave!

The vintage military jacket - easy, breezy, cool!

Hey readers! Firstly I must apologise for the lack of new posts of late....to say that things at DollsMaison are busy would be the understatement of the century!! September is one hell of a congested month! Not only does it seem that everybody's birthday tends to fall in September (including mine yippee!) but, we were super pumped that the fashion glitterati descended onto the streets of London Town for some serious trend watching during London Fashion Week and we LOVE IT! Watching how other people put together their own wardrobes opens your eyes to quirky combos and effective styling that you never would have never thought about stringing together in a million years!

The leather pencil skirt - preppy style!

The printed wide legged pant - A firm favourite at Dolls Maison!

The cute button down dress / cocoon coat combo

The leather pencil skirt - a DollsMaison favourite staple piece!

The tartan army are in town!

Bold stripe pants - LOVE!

The simple but effective combo

The Pleated Maxi

LFW may have wrapped up last week but we are still lusting after some of the vintage inspired styles we peeped in these fab street style shots (LOVING the full leather skirt look - which we've also had a delivery of so you too can get involved in it! They'll be available in our ASOS Marketplace Boutique over the course of the next couple of weeks!). DOLLSMAISON @ VINTAGE ROCKS! 1 WEEK TO GO!

With London Fashion Week just beginning the countdown is on for VINTAGE ROCKS! This year it takes place at super cool venue, The Boogaloo in Highgate. Described by GQ magazine as "the sweetest little juke-joint in the world", the quirky rustic interior will make you feel you have literally stepped into a cool watering hole in the 1950's! Plus Coldplay played an intimate gig here last year....how cool is that?!

We are super excited and can't wait for what is sure to be a superb night of music and fashion, hosted by Emma Murphy founder of Rock Candy a cute little vintage emporium based in Camden.

On the night we along with some of London's coolest vintage stores (including of course Rock Candy!) will be showcasing some of our hot new AW12 gems with the focus being on fashion through the ages, spanning the rocking 1950's to the quirky 1990's so there will literally be something for everyone!

That's not all, following the show you have the opportunity to add a little bit of vintage glamour to your wardrobe by purchasing pieces straight from the runway...what's not to love?! The night will be topped off by a gig from the fantastic Billy Vincent..... amaze-balls!!

A fashion show, shopping, a gig AND drinking...sounds like the perfect Thursday evening to me!

We can't wait to meet you if you decide to pop down!

FASHION FORECAST AUTUMN/WINTER 2012: THE TROPHY JUMPER

Christopher Kane Cashmere Jumper
Phillip Lim Ka-Pow Jumper
Oh No! I'm so sad...summer is officially O.V.E.R!!! Let's be honest though, between the rainfall, gale force winds and smatterings of sunshine you'd be forgiven for thinking we never left winter! But hey ho all is not lost, the gorgeous reddy...browny...yellowy scenic backdrop will soon be upon us as will the best thing about autumn, the threads! The forward thinking fash-pack would already have started purchasing their staple pieces back in June, but the normal folk among us would start pondering what key pieces they'll be investing in to see them through to the UK winter we oh so look forward to...not!

This autumn sees a gorgeous array of fabrics and prints coming through but the major trend coming through all over the high street and catwalks alike is the trophy jumper (my personal faves are the Phillip Lim Ka-Pow sweater and the Christopher Kane retro Coogi look-alike chunky knit), it's been deemed the hero piece of the season and I. ain't. mad! I love me a piece of knitwear! Not all jumpers qualify for TJ status though, there needs to be something to set it aside from the rest, whether it's the knit, the colour or a bold pattern/motif it's got. to. POP!

Start your trophy cabinet right here with some of our cool knitwear, available in our ASOS Marketplace Boutique! We've also got lots more coming through soon so lots to choose from!
